Victim of Bangor crash identified as 79-year-old Old Town resident

The Bangor Police Department on Monday identified the victim as 79-year-old Donald Ketchen.

BANGOR, Maine — An Old Town man died Sunday in a crash in Bangor, Bangor Police Department public information officer Wade Betters said in a release Monday.

Donald Ketchen, 79, was driving on Valley Avenue around 8:10 a.m. when his car went down an embankment and came to a "violent stop," according to Bangor police.

Betters said Ketchen died at the scene.

The Bangor Police Department's investigation into the crash is ongoing.

A portion of Valley Avenue between Kenduskeag Ave and Bruce Road will be closed at 11:23 a.m. for a couple of hours Sunday after a fatal crash in Bangor.
