Franklin County man missing after brother's funeral found safe

The man was safely located Saturday night, police said.

RANGELEY PLANTATION, Maine — Update: Frank Van Soeren was safely located by police Saturday night, according to a release from the Maine Department of Public Safety. 

Original story: The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has issued a Silver Alert for Frank Van Soeren, 67, of Rangeley Plantation.

Van Soeren, who has cognitive issues, was last seen sometime before 10 p.m. Thursday at Walmart in Farmington, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a release Friday.

Officials describe Van Soeren as a 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 200 pounds, with white hair and blue eyes.

He drives a black 2013 Toyota Sienna minivan with Ontario license plate BYLY317, according to Moss.

Officials ask that anyone who may have information on Van Soeren's whereabouts call the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 207-778-6140.

Silver Alerts are issued when a confused adult with dementia or developmental disabilities is missing.
