Equipment malfunction causes wildfire in Fort Fairfield grain field

The fire has been contained to 38 acres. While the flames did threaten several structures near West Center Limestone Road, officials say the flames are under control

FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Maine Forest Ranger Keith Draper reports that a wildfire in a Fort Fairfield grain field is now contained at 38 acres. 

The Maine Forest Rangers report the fire was caused by an equipment malfunction and threatened several structures near the West Center Limestone Road before being brought under control by Fort Fairfield firefighters and their mutual aid partners.
