Lewiston woman accused of killing 90-year-old Litchfield man

The man was found dead at his home on Hallowell Road on Saturday, state police said.

LITCHFIELD, Maine — A woman from Lewiston has been charged with murder in the death of a Litchfield man.

Gerald Marin, 90, was found dead at his home at 1724 Hallowell Road on Saturday, May 18, after the Kennebec County Sheriff's Office responded to the address at the request of one of Marin's family members, Maine State Police said in a release Friday.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit investigated Marin's death throughout the weekend, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy that ruled the death a homicide, the release stated.

Shari Allimah, 55, was arrested Wednesday and charged with killing Marin. She was already being held at the Androscoggin Jail on unrelated charges, according to police.
