LITCHFIELD, Maine — The Kennebec County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a single-vehicle rollover crash claimed the life of a United States Postal Service employee from Wales.

Just after 9 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a reported rollover crash at the intersection of Huntington Hill Road and Quackenbush Lane that involved a USPS vehicle where the driver was partially ejected, a release from the sheriff's office stated.

Investigators discovered the vehicle was headed south on Huntington Hill Road when it went off the roadway and rolled over several times. No other vehicles were reportedly involved in the crash.

The driver was identified as 48-year-old Alicia Bubier, the sheriff's office said.

"Litchfield and Gardiner Fire & Rescue Personnel worked to extricate Bubier from the vehicle and she was transported to CMMC in Lewiston with severe trauma by Gardiner Rescue," the sheriff's office said. "The vehicle was towed by AC Towing and a vehicle inspection will be performed."

The crash remains under investigation.
