HARTLAND, Maine — A man was robbed and assaulted at gunpoint in Hartland after responding to a social media ad Sunday, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials said the man reported that he saw an item for sale on social media, and went to a residence on Brown Rd. to look at it.
The victim told police he was confronted by several men who were armed with handguns.
According to police, his cash was stolen and he was struck in the head with a handgun by one of the men.
The armed men then fled on foot, police said.
