South Portland (NEWS CENTER Maine)-- Lot's of kids in Maine go to summer camp. Maybe it's for a sport, maybe band, maybe drama, but police camp? The South Portland police department is offering Junior Police Academy Camp in July. You do not have to want to be a police officer or live in South Portland to attend, you just need to want to have fun. Kids will learn about the SWAT team, the dive team, the K9 unit and more.
This is the 3rd year of the camp and the first two went incredibly well according to South Portland Police Officer David Stailing. "It has been very well received, parents loved it, raved about it"
