Fiddler Louise Bichan's new album includes sounds of home: Scotland

Louise Bichan stopped by the 207 studio to share new music and stories behind the tracks.

PORTLAND, Maine — Louise Bichan has a way of storytelling through sounds.

Bichan grew up in Scotland but went to Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts. She first picked up a fiddle when she was seven years old and has been playing ever since. Her Scottish roots can be heard throughout her new album "The Lost Summer." She said she was able to record part of the album in Scotland and include family members on the tracks.

She stopped by the 207 studio to share some of her new music and the stories behind the recordings. The album features Ethan Setiawan on mandolins, Brendan Hearn on cello and Conor Hearn on guitar. There are some special guest musicians as well.

Bichan has performances across New England this spring and will back in Maine to perform at least one show this summer. You can catch her at the Old South Church Concert Series in Farmington this July.
