PORTLAND, Maine — Record Store Day is celebrated around the world but its inception was in Maine.
Chris Brown, the chief financial officer of Bull Moose, came up with the idea almost two decades ago. The idea caught on like wildfire.
"Someone had to think of it," Brown said with a laugh.
Brown said events like Record Store Day give local artists a chance to shine in the spotlight. For example, the Maine band Forest City and Friends' newest album is highlighted in the segment and in stores.
This year, Record Store Day is Saturday, April 20. Bull Moose locations around the state will be decked out for the event. Check out the segment above for more.
