Police seek 'armed and dangerous' man accused of stealing vehicle, assaulting an officer

Police said 28-year-old Ricki M. Gould and his companion are to be considered armed and dangerous.

WATERVILLE, Maine — Police are searching for a man considered to be armed and dangerous who is accused of stealing a vehicle and assaulting an officer.

Waterville police have obtained an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Ricki M. Gould, a news release from the police department said Tuesday. Gould is described as a white male with red hair who is about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.

"Gould is transient, but most recently of Corinna, Maine," the release stated.

The arrest warrant stems from a Nov. 18 incident, according to police. Just after 3 a.m. on that day, Officer Josh Medeiros with the Waterville Police Department discovered a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Circle K on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville.

Upon discovering the vehicle, there was reportedly a female passenger who appeared to be passed out or sleeping inside the vehicle, and a male suspect standing behind the vehicle, police said.

"When Officer Medeiros contacted the male suspect a fight ensued and the suspect, now identified as Ricki Gould, assaulted Officer Medeiros multiple times before fleeing the scene in the stolen vehicle," the release said. "Detectives worked through the weekend to identify and obtain a warrant for Gould regarding this incident."

Waterville police are now seeking assistance from the public in determining the whereabouts of Gould and his female companion, who is still believed to be with him.

"Gould and his companion are believed to have been involved in the theft of another vehicle from St. Albans this morning," police stated. "They are to be considered armed and dangerous."

Police ask anyone who sees Gould and his companion to immediately call 911 and alert the nearest law enforcement agency.

"Gould should not be approached by anyone who is not law enforcement," police said.

Anyone with general information can contact the Waterville Police Department at 207-680-4700 and ask for Det. Fabian, the release stated.
