Four kids missing from Citrus County campground found safe

The children showed signs of hypothermia, according to the sheriff's office.
The children were found by fishermen.

UPDATE: The children have been found safe, according to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff says they were found by fishermen on the Chassahowitzka River.

Three of the children show signs of hypothermia and are being treated by EMS.

Officials are scouring the area near a Citrus County campground for four missing children.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office Patrol, Aviation, K-9, Volunteer Bloodhound units and FWC are searching the Chassahowitzka Campground in Homosassa for the children, who were exploring around their campsite after arriving there with their families earlier today.

The children are:

  • Jade, a girl, age 9, wearing a purple coat
  • Rocket, a boy, age 8, wearing navy Blue hoodie
  • Jasper, a boy, ge 7, wearing gray sweatpants
  • Aidan, a boy, age 9, wearing green two-tone windbreaker
These children were reported missing from a Citrus County campground

Anyone who comes in contact with these children, or has any information about their whereabouts, please contact 911 immediately.
