Woman killed in Westbrook motorcycle crash

Police say neither of them were wearing helmets and police believe alcohol and speed were factors that contributed to the crash.

WESTBROOK, Maine — A woman was killed Saturday night during a motorcycle accident on Pride Street in Westbrook.

Brenton Blais, of Old Orchard Beach, was driving the motorcycle with his passenger Jennifer Lavigne, of South Portland, when they crashed around 8:30 p.m. said Sgt. Anthony Ciampi of the Westbrook Police Department. i

Blais was brought to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries and rushed into surgery police said.

Lavigne was also taken to Maine Medical Center where police said she was pronounced dead.

Police said the two were not wearing helmets and police believe alcohol and speed were factors that contributed to the crash.

Pride Street was closed from Austin St. to Rt. 302 through the night as police worked to reconstruct the accident
