Gouldsboro Fire Department Capt. Edward Pontbriand said a sedan and a pickup crashed somewhere near 9:30 Christmas morning.

“There’s no skid marks out on the scene, so when they hit, it was a high impact accident. Head on," said Pontbriand. "It was a big hit.”

Pontbriand said the male driver of the sedan survived the wreck, but his passenger died at the scene. The male driver of the truck was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
