Search continues for 28-year-old missing since last June

"We have to know what happened to her. I don't want to see this become a cold case."

GARDINER (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Police in central Maine are still searching for a woman who hasn't been seen in nearly a year.

Police aren't releasing the exact location, but say Megan Gregory was last seen June 5, 2017, in Augusta, just two weeks from her 28th birthday.

Investigators have done several interviews with people who saw Gregory in the days leading up to her disappearance, but leads have not turned up any information about her whereabouts.

Authorities are also working with federal agencies and police in New York, where Gregory is believed to have visited before she disappeared.

One man, who did not want be identified, says he worked with Gregory at a restaurant pub in Damariscotta. He said they became close friends and she told him that she struggled with heroin addiction. He believes she may be a victim of a drug deal gone bad.

"I just hope we get to the bottom of it quick, she deserves it, it's justice for Meg," said a friend of Gregory. "You know, she deserves that we find out what happened to her and there are a lot of people who care about what happened to her."

Gregory is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall with blond hair and blue eyes. If you have any information you can call the Gardiner Police Department at 624-7076.
