PALMYRA, Maine — A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night on Route 2 in Palmyra.

The Somerset County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian shortly after 7:30 p.m. near the Walmart on Route 2, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

Investigators said 45-year-old Heather Corey of Palmyra was crossing Route 2 from the Walmart parking lot toward the Dollar General when she was hit by a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 80-year-old Gerald Heskett of Palmrya.
