Maine CDC issues notice about rabid skunk in Sabattus

SABATTUS, Maine — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday notified the town of Sabattus about a recent case of rabies identified in a skunk.

Sabattus residents are encouraged to contact the Maine CDC Division of Disease Surveillance at 1-800-821-5821.

"Please do not touch any wild animals and make sure your pets are up to date on vaccinations," the town said in a notification on its website Wednesday.
