New Hampshire woman who was trapped in vehicle following York County crash has died

The 76-year-old woman from Farmington, New Hampshire, was seriously injured in the crash and has since died.

LEBANON, Maine — A woman from New Hampshire who was seriously injured Thursday in a crash has since died from her injuries.

Emergency officials were called around 10:20 a.m. about a report of a single-vehicle crash on Milton Mills Road in Lebanon.

Early investigation suggests the vehicle, driven by 46-year-old Jason Cilley of Acton, apparently went off the road, over an embankment, and crashed into a tree, the York County Sheriff's Office said Thursday in a Facebook post.

There were two passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash, identified as 43-year-old Michelle Harvey of Acton and 76-year-old Billie Laferte of Farmington New Hampshire, the sheriff's office said.

Harvey and Cilley suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and were treated and released at the scene.

Laferte, however, was trapped in the vehicle. Crews with the Lebanon Fire Department worked about 90 minutes to get her out. She was brought by Lebanon Rescue to Southern Maine Health Care with serious injuries, according to the release.

York County Sheriff William King shared in an update Friday that Laferte has since died from her injuries.

Milton Mills Road was closed for about two hours Thursday because of the crash, which remains under investigation.
