The Somerset County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Norridgewock that claimed the life of 29-year-old Brock Peters of Fairfield.

NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine — A Fairfield man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Norridgewock.

Frederick Landry, 79, of Norridgewock was driving a white 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck hauling a homemade trailer on Ward Hill Road when he reportedly made a left-hand turn into his driveway, crossing into the path of a motorcyclist, the Somerset County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Brock Peters, 29, of Fairfield, who was operating a red 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, was struck by the pickup truck while driving southbound on the road, according to the release.

Officials said the crash happened at about 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Landry was not wearing a seatbelt but did not sustain injuries in the crash, officials said.

Peters was wearing a helmet at the time of impact but was taken by ambulance to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan where he was pronounced dead from his injuries, the release stated.

The crash is being reconstructed by the Somerset County Sheriff's Office's Reconstruction Team and remains under investigation.
