Ellsworth Water Department lifts boil water order

A boil water order was issued Friday for residents in certain areas of the city.

ELLSWORTH, Maine — The Ellsworth Water Department has lifted a boil water order that was in effect for residents in certain areas of the city.

On Friday, the Ellsworth Water Department asked residents in the following areas to boil all water due to the possibility of it being unsafe:

  • School Street (State Street to Main Street) 
  • Church Street (Oak Street to School Street) 
  • Park Street (School Street to Garden Street) 
  • Birch Avenue (State Street to Oak Street) 

The water department said any questions can be directed to Superintendent Reggie Winslow at 207-667-8632 or to the Maine Drinking Water Program at 207-287-2070 during normal business hours.
