POLICE: Four Sanford residents arrested on heroin charges

Ashlyn Smith

SANFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- THE MDEA, Sanford Police and Maine State Police contributed to the arrest of four Sanford residents for heroin-related crimes this month.

  • Ashlyn Smith, 26, arrested for aggravated trafficking of heroin.
  • Ian Blow, 25, arrested for aggravated trafficking of heroin and fentanyl.
  • Samantha Barnett, 25, arrested for aggravated trafficking of heroin and fentanyl.
  • Stephanie Meunier, 26, arrested for aggravated trafficking of heroin and fentanyl.

Barnett, Blow and Meunier were all arrested on June 2nd by Maine State Police after returning to Maine from Massachusetts in possession of a mix of heroin and fentanyl.

Maine State Police have said the trio intended to sell the drugs locally.

Authorities were granted an arrest warrant for Smith after the completion of drugs deals with undercover agents.

Police are still investigating whether there is a link between this drug connection and the six heroin overdoses that occurred in one day in Sanford earlier in June.
