Deputies investigate head-on, rollover crash in Turner

Two people were brought to Central Maine Medical Center for reported injuries.

TURNER, Maine — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash Friday night in Turner that sent two people to the hospital with reported injuries. 

The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office and Turner Fire and Rescue responded to a crash on the area of 1949 Auburn Road, a news release from the sheriff's office said. 

A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Richard Disanto of Upton, Massachusetts was headed south when the car reportedly crossed the center line, hitting a 2003 Ford Ecoline van driven by a male from Norridgewock head-on. The Ford Ecoline reportedly rolled over.

"Disanto was distracted at the time of the crash by several dogs inside the vehicle," the sheriff's office said. 

Both drivers were accompanied by one passenger in each vehicle.  

The driver of the Ford Ecoline was reportedly brought to Central Maine Medical Center for reported neck pain. Disanto's passenger was also brought to Central Maine Medical Center for reported hip and arm pain.
