Biddeford police and fire department compete in toy drive

It is the first time they have ever held the event called "hand it to a hero".

BIDDEFORD (NEWS CENTER Maine)-- Biddeford firefighters and police went head-to-head in a Toys for Tots drive at the Biddeford Wal-Mart on Saturday.

It is the first time they have ever held the event called "hand it to a hero", where police officers, firefighters, E-M-Ts and paramedics all help stuff a fire department bus and the crime scene unit van.

More than 500 toys were donated, and more than $700 in cash donation were collected.

People can keep dropping off toys to the Biddeford Fire Department until Christmas.
