BELFAST, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Athena Health company in Belfast is growing quickly during this economy, and it islooking to add between 65 and 80 new jobs.

Athena provides several different services for health groups. The Belfast office has been open for four years and it is offering new opportunities for people like Elizabeth Gundel who quit her job as a pre-school teacher because she wanted a change.

"I was looking for more of a career, something I could really push myself at and show my best skills and talents. And Athena looked like a great opportunity for that," Client Support Center Trainer Elizabeth Gundel said.

Gundel has been at Athena for three and a half years. She teaches people how to take calls and deal with different customers who use Athena's software programs who need help. Athena offers several different services for that include revenue cycle management, medical records management and coordinating different orders from physicians to hospitals.

But Gundel said Athena Health offers more than just business services. It gives employees a chance to grow.

"I have just seen myself grow so much in the last three and a half years and it's hard to find a job that allows you to have that," Gundel said.

More people will be joining that type or environment. According to Senior Vice President of Operations at Athena Health in Belfast David Tassoni, the company is growing annually at 25-30 percent. Something he thinks will continue.

"We have only half of this building filled. I expect that we're gonna get somewhere in the neighborhood of 700-800 people that we will eventually have here at that consistent growth," Tassoni said.

Giving more people like Gundel a chance to grow.
