FRYEBURG, Maine (AP) - The Federal Aviation Administration is giving two Maine airports more than $900,000 for reconstruction and rehabilitation projects.
Eastern Slope Regional Airport in Fryeburg will receive more than $550,000 to pay for reconstruction of about 7,800 square yards of apron pavement. Officials say the pavement has reached the end of its usefulness at the airport.
Augusta State Airport will get more than $390,000 for rehab work on its apron, runway and taxiway pavement. Officials say the money will also help pay to remove obstructions on the runway.
Maine U.S. Sens. Susan Collins, a Republican, and Angus King, an Independent, announced the funding.
