Brewer woman charged in Bangor hit-and-run crash involving pedestrian

Police responded to a call around 6:30 p.m. Thursday about a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian.

BANGOR, Maine — A woman from Brewer is facing two charges stemming from an apparent hit-and-run crash that involved a pedestrian Thursday in Bangor.

Emergency officials were called around 6:30 p.m. about a report that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Union Street and Fourteenth Street, Bangor police spokesperson Lt. Jason Stuart said Thursday in a news release.

When police arrived at the scene, the vehicle was no longer there. The person who was apparently hit, a 46-year-old Bangor man, was brought to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to the release.

Police at the time asked the public for help in identifying the vehicle they believed was involved in the crash.

The driver of that vehicle has reportedly been identified as 46-year-old Christy Cote of Brewer, who has been interviewed by police and charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and operating after a license suspension, Stuart said Friday in a news release.
