1. WONDERFUL WEATHER FOR WEDNESDAY

Expect a beautiful Wednesday ahead of you! Our Todd Gutner calls it "shorts and sweatshirt weather." It will be chilly early this morning and later tonight, though. We'll have a little more rain tomorrow, but it'll clear up for Mother's Day weekend.

2. DEADLY COLORADO SCHOOL SHOOTING

One student is dead and eight others injured following a school shooting in a suburb of Denver, Colorado yesterday. Two teenagers believed to be students at the school have been taken into custody. 

3. LISBON STUDENTS PROTEST TO SUPPORT CLASSMATE

A student in Lisbon says she was raped by a classmate and that her school isn't doing enough to make her feel safe. Many students there skipped school Tuesday to protest. The superintendent said the district is "deeply concerned and aware of the allegations" and that its top priority is student safety. An investigation is ongoing. 

4. PAID SICK TIME ISSUE TAKEN UP IN AUGUSTA

The city of Portland voted down a measure to require employers to offer paid sick time, but only a day later, the legislature in Augusta picked up the matter. The Senate voted unanimously on a bill to require paid sick leave statewide. It now goes to the House for a vote. 

5. RIDESHARING APPS PLAN TO GO ON STRIKE

If you're planning to take an Uber or Lyft today, you may have a hard time finding a ride. Rideshare drivers around the country are going on strike starting today, demanding better pay and benefits. This is before Uber's debut on the New York Stock Exchange.
