HALLOWELL, Maine — The Maine State Lottery on Monday announced its highest selling agents for 2018, recognizing the stores that sold the most tickets.
The top three had sales of more than $1 million last year, combining for a total of about $3.8 million, and paid out more than $2.1 million in prizes.
Shared commissions between the three were nearly $250,000.
The following stores were listed:
- Hannaford, Biddeford
- Lisbon Street News, Lewiston
- Broadway Variety, South Portland
The stores were each honored with a plaque.
Established in 1974 by Maine voters in a statewide referendum, the Maine State Lottery is government-run and its proceeds benefit the General Fund.
