Other New England states are excited to welcome Mainers for tourism season

The pandemic has hit the hospitality industry harder than most, and New Hampshire officials said they're excited to welcome Mainers to the Granite State

CONWAY, New Hampshire — Tourism season will be here before we know it and last year, there was a lot of local travel here in Maine and in neighboring New Hampshire.

Since the start of the pandemic, travel guidelines in New Hampshire have allowed all New England residents to travel to the granite state without providing a negative COVID test.

Folks at the White Mountain Hotel are renovating now, and they say they saw a lot of Mainers take advantage and try to get away safely.

"A lot of Mainers! It's a perfect combination of the Maine seacoast to the New Hampshire mountains and people traveling during covid restrictions felt very comfortable being in the mountains. enjoying all of the outside activities and fresh air that the mountains had to offer," White Mountain Hotel owner Carol Sullivan said.

Like those in the hospitality industry here, those in North Conway are looking forward to a busy tourism season this year.
