YORK, Pa. — Thanksgiving meals tend to have a fairly set menu, but what about drinks?

Nate Snelbaker with Fine Wine & Good Spirits shares cocktail recipes to complement every Turkey Day dish.

Pumpkin Spice White Russian

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces, New Amsterdam Vodka
  • 1 ounce, Kahula Liqueur
  • 1 ½ ounces, pumpkin spice creamer
  • 3 tablespoons, crushed pumpkin spice graham crackers
    • Combine 1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice and 3 teaspoons of crushed graham crackers. Mix to coat evenly.
  • Whipped cream, for garnish
  • Nutmeg, for garnish

Directions

  1. Rim two rocks glasses with the pumpkin spice graham crackers; set aside.
  2. Combine the first two ingredients in a shaker.
  3. Shake and strain the alcohol into the prepared glasses filled with ice.
  4. Add the pumpkin spice creamer.
  5. Garnish the cocktail with whipped cream and nutmeg.

Chai Old Fashioned

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces, Maker’s Mark Straight Bourbon
  • 2 dashes, bitters
  • 2 ounces, chai simple syrup*
    • Boil 1 cup of water in a medium saucepan. Remove from the heat, add 4 chai tea bags, cover and steep for 12 minutes. Remove the tea bags and stir in 1⁄3 cup of maple syrup. Boil, without boiling over, for three minutes. Remove the mixture from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Refrigerate the syrup in an airtight container.
  • 1 ounce, fresh lemon juice
  • Q Club Soda
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish
  • Star anise, for garnish
  • Dehydrated lemon wheel, for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine the first four ingredients in a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake and strain the drink into an old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.
  3. Top it with club soda.
  4. Garnish the cocktail with a cinnamon stick, star anise and dehydrated lemon wheel.

A Thyme for Thanks

Ingredients

  • 2 plums, peeled and chopped
  • 4 tablespoons, thyme simple syrup
    • Simmer 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves. Add 6-8 thyme sprigs. Simmer the mixture for several minutes. Remove it from heat, cover and let sit for three hours. Discard the sprigs. Refrigerate the syrup in an airtight container.
  • 1 ounce, fresh lemon juice
  • La Marca Prosecco
  • Plum wedges, for garnish
  • Thyme sprigs, for garnish

Directions

  1. Muddle the first three ingredients in a shaker; add ice.
  2. Shake and strain the mixture into wine glasses.
  3. Top the drink with prosecco.
  4. Garnish the cocktail with plum wedges and thyme sprigs.
