Another Lewiston shooting victim released from CMMC

This discharge leaves just one patient left in the care of CMMC who was injured in the Oct. 25 shootings.

LEWISTON, Maine — Staff members lined the halls at Central Maine Medical Center on Wednesday in what the hospital called an "emotional sendoff" as another victim of the Lewiston shootings was discharged.

"Following complicated surgery and weeks of recovery, the patient was cleared to return home, exactly six weeks since the incident occurred," Central Maine Healthcare said in a news release.

This discharge leaves just one patient left in the care of CMMC who was injured in the Oct. 25 shootings.

Central Maine Healthcare said what was intended to be a quiet moment during the patient's sendoff Wednesday quickly led to a joyful swell of emotion that was cause for applause.

"What a sight it was to see this brave patient leaving our hospital," Steve Littleson, president and CEO of Central Maine Healthcare, said in the release. "He has been with us for six weeks, and in that time our doctors, nurses and other team members have formed a powerful bond with him. We wish him and his wonderful family all the best as he continues his recovery at home."

The remaining Lewiston victim in their care remains in "stable condition," according to CMMC.
