*UPDATE* 6/26 1:54 p.m. – NEWS CENTER Maine's over-the-air signal that serves viewers in the WCSH coverage area has been restored! Thanks for your patience!

PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- Sometimes NEWS CENTER Maine needs to interrupt your TV service before we can make it better. Today is one of those times.

Our over-the-air signal that serves viewers in the WCSH coverage area will go dark on Tuesday, June 26 starting at 12:30 p.m. We are shutting down power to allow our maintenance team to work on the lighting system on our transmission tower.

The outage could last until 4:30 p.m. although our crew will try their best to bring us back on the air sooner. In addition to over-the-air viewers, anyone who receives our signal through the Dish Network or DirecTV satellite services will also see blank screens for the duration of the work. Cable service customers will not be affected.

The digital channels that carry The Justice Network, Antenna TV and Quest programming will go offline in tandem with our primary programming. All of these interruptions are limited only to the southern range of our signal. Broadcasting will proceed normally for eastern and northern parts of Maine that fall within the WLBZ coverage umbrella.

There are no plans to re-air any programs, such as "Days of Our Lives" or "Harry," that are normally scheduled to run during the outage period. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
