FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Canterbury Royale is an award winning gourmet restaurant located on a country road in Fort Fairfield. It seems an unlikely place to find extraordinary French cuisine. However, Renee O'Neill and Barb Boucher have been delighting diners for eleven years.
The restaurant is also their home so their dining rooms are small. There is a main table that seats perhaps 20 and two smaller rooms in which another ten or so guests can be seated. From Tuesday through Sunday, they seat small numbers to wonderful six course meals of French cuisine.
They have been listed among the best restaurants in Maine and New England by a number of publications including Down East, Yankee and Boston Magazine.
To control costs, diners are asked to pick their entrees when they make their reservations. The other courses are surprises and sure to tickle the taste buds.
Renee is also an artist. She has carved intricate details into the dining room. The result is unique and charming!
