Snow or No? | GUTNER BLOG

The snow has been relentless this month, and more may be on the way

What a month. March has been the snowiest of the entire winter, and it's only half over.

So, what's the deal with the next nor'easter? There seems to be some confusion if it will snow or not. Personally, I don't see any reason to write this one off. The track of the surface low has been all over the place. A week ago, it looked to be nailing us. Over the weekend, it seemed to shift way out to sea. Now, here it comes again, ticking back to the west. Honestly, I don't really care what the models are doing with the surface low. The mid-levels are ripe and impressive. They point to snow here in New England. The question is how much?

There will likely be a sharp cut-off northwest of the storm, somewhere here in Maine. The coastline is most susceptible for accumulation, and the mountains may miss out on this one.

I don't see this storm having the same kind of impact as the previous nor'easters this month. Less wind, less of a coastal flood threat and less snow. But the probability of a plowable snow is pretty high and it would not shock me if some towns receive around 6" or even more. We'll try to get specific later Monday.
