WESTBROOK, Maine — The first female sergeant in the Westbrook Police Department was sworn in Friday morning.
Sgt. Jaci Lorenzen earned her selection after serving as a patrol officer for the past five and a half years. During a portion of that time, she also had the responsibility of being a field training officer.
In a Facebook post Friday, Westbrook PD said its the first time a woman has been promoted to the rank of sergeant since the department's inception in 1891.
