KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine — The Maine Warden Service says they have recovered the body of Howard Lamson, 71, who had been missing since Sunday, March 15.
Warden Lucas Bellanceau and his K9 found Lamson approximately three-quarters of a mile south from his home on Oak Ridge Road in Kennebunkport. Lamson suffered from dementia, and his death is not considered suspicious, according to the Warden Service.
A member of the public alerted police that they had seen someone matching Lamson's description earlier in the week.
More than one dozen Wardens helped in the search, as well as K9 teams, Kennebunkport police, 15 Maine Association for Search and Rescue (MASAR) volunteer searchers, and five Maine Search and Rescue Dogs (MESARD). Searchers had focused their effort on the area near Oak Ridge Road.

The Kennebunkport Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for Howard Lamson, 71, of Ridge Road in Kennebunkport. He was last seen on March 15, between 3 and 4 p.m. walking towards Biddeford.
Police say he was wearing jeans, a ball cap, and black shoes.
He is described by police as 5’9”, 148 lbs, with gray hair and hazel eyes.
He may be confused or disoriented.

Officials are asking people who live in the Kennebunkport area to carefully check their outbuildings, unused vehicles, campers, or other places where someone could shelter himself.
