MISSING: 14-year-old Portland girl last seen Jan. 27

Police say the teenager has not been to school or had any contact with friends or family members since her disappearance.

PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Police in Portland are asking the public for assistance in locating a missing 14-year-old girl from Portland.

Police say Hilda Vanessa Sanaguaray-Upaya was last seen at 8 a.m. Jan. 27 in the area of Northgate Shopping Center on Auburn Street when she ran away from family members.

Sanaguaray-Upaya is a Deering High School student and lives in the North Deering neighborhood.

Police say the teenager has not been to school or had any contact with friends or family members since her disappearance. She does not have a cell phone and had only a small amount of cash.

Her family says they're very concerned for her wellbeing.

Police say the Sanaguaray-Upaya has been known to use aliases on social media accounts with the names Valentina Diaz and Nelly Guaman. They say she also goes by the name Vanessa.

Sanaguaray-Upaya is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish fluently. She's described as a white female who is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 100 pounds with long, black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a black-hooded jacket and blue jeans and is believed to have had with her a small pink wallet with a small amount of cash.
