Community Closet | 2017 '2 Those Who Care' Agency of Distinction
COMMUNITY CLOSET is this year’s 2 Those Who Care Agency of Distinction. Under the direction of Jacqueline Wycoff, the Community Closet provides clothes, books, and basic needs for people in the Hancock County and surrounding areas.

Paul House | 2017 '2 Those Who Care' Award Winner
Paul House is a life-long Maine woodsman and Registered Master Guide. His world changed in 2007 when he received word that his son, US Army Sergeant Joel House, had been killed in action in Iraq.

Rhonda French | 2017 '2 Those Who Care' Award Winner
Rhonda French is described as the “Guardian Angel of Washington County” by her nominator. Rhonda is credited with contributing to many community projects ranging from a Trick or Treat for canned goods drive, neighborhood yard work and shoveling for elderly and disabled inviduals, to a quilts project for the Machias Veterans Home.

Richard Angotti | 2017 '2 Those Who Care' Award Winner
RICHARD ANGOTTI has volunteered for more than 40 years in the Katahdin region. He started by helping churches put on choral concerts and went on to assist with school concerts and musicals.

Robert Allen | 2017 John W. Coombs Award Winner
Dr. Robert Allen has been a community leader for 38 years. Through his work as a cardiologist, Bob helped establish a cardiac rehab program at the Bangor YMCA that is still going strong today.

Gary Allen | 2017 '2 Those Who Care' Award Winner
Gary Allen is a lifelong marathon runner from Great Cranberry Island. He started out participating in track and Cross County in high school and moved on to road races. Eventually Gary hosted road races, including the well-regarded Mount Desert Island Marathon, and in the last 15 years has been instrumental in organizing a number of long distance ultras to raise funds for several non-profits including the American Cancer Society and the Wounded Warrior Project.

<p>Linda Bradford of Orono has served as a volunteer tutor with Literacy Volunteers of Bangor for 12 years, helping adults who lack basic reading skills as well as adults who are learning English as another language.</p>

<p>Rick Fournier devotes time and talent to a diverse and impressive list of organizations that know the value of his participation: the Bangor Public Library, Maine Discovery Museum, Bangor YMCA, the Maine Arts Commission, and the Bangor Water District.</p>

<p>The Maine Troop Greeters have spent more than 13 years shaking the hands of and offering expressions of gratitude to more than 1.5 million military servicemen and women who have come through Bangor International Airport, heading out on overseas deployment or returning from it.</p>
