HOLLIS, Maine — A driver with several warrants for his arrest and his passenger are both wanted by Maine State Police, accused of eluding troopers Tuesday.

The pursuit, which started at about 10 a.m. along Plains Road in north Hollis, ended on Route 35 headed toward Bonny Eagle High School when troopers decided the vehicle's reckless driving was a concern for safety.

Later, troopers and Biddeford police investigated and identified the suspects in the vehicle as 32-year-old Kyle Needham of Standish, the driver, and 33-year-old Amanda Merryfield of Biddeford, a passenger.

The pair are believed to have been at time of the pursuit in a green 2001 Nissan Altima with Black Bears plate 29150.

Needham's license is suspended due to being a habitual offender, state police said. He currently has several warrants for his arrest, including for probation revocation and eluding law enforcement, stemming from a previous pursuit.

Merryfield is wanted for failure to submit to arrest/detention, police said.

Anyone who is able to provide information on either suspect is asked to contact Maine State Police Trooper Sgt. Forbes at 207-624-7076.
