Manhunt for N.H. fugitive wanted in wife's murder ends in apparent suicide, police say

The manhunt for Denis Bisson is over and the public is safe after Bisson was found dead of an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound, state police said early Saturday

*UPDATE* 6/23 as of 7:03 a.m. - Maine State Police say Denis Bisson shot himself along the banks of the Androscoggin River in Rumford where police found his body around 11:30pm Friday night after residents nearby reported hearing a gunshot to police. Bisson's body was found near an information booth on Bridge Street. Before finding Bisson's body, police found his pickup truck on an ATV trail off Route 108 roughly three miles away.

*UPDATE* 6/23 2 a.m. – The manhunt for Bisson is over and the public is safe, state police said early Saturday morning. It ended in Rumford, Maine, late Friday night.

No further details were released other than the manhunt had ended.

The state Public Safety spokesperson said additional information would be released later Saturday.

BERLIN, N.H. (NEWS CENTER Maine) — State police in both New Hampshire and Maine are searching for a fugitive in connection with a homicide investigation involving his wife.

The New Hampshire Attorney General's office said Denis Bisson, 52, is wanted for the second-degree murder of 43-year-old Angie Bisson, who was found dead Friday morning.

Denis Bisson is at-large and could be armed with a firearm, the AG's office said.

Maine State Police later confirmed the details in a separate release and said Bisson is believed to be in the Rumford-Mexico area of Maine, although the state Public Safety spokesperson said there had been no confirmed sightings of the suspect or his truck.

A command post had been set up at Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine.

The spokesperson said there were more than 36 police officers involved in the search.

Police describe Bisson as 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He's believed to be driving a silver, 2015 Toyota Tundra pickup truck with New Hampshire vanity license plate "ALL-GD."

Police said Bisson should not be approached in the event his truck is spotted.

The New Hampshire AG's office said Berlin police found the body of Angie Bisson at a residence in Berlin with an apparent gunshot wound. An autopsy was planned to verify her cause and manner of death and the investigation remained active and ongoing.
