A few severe thunderstorms possible today

It's warm and humid, fuel for strong to severe storms to fire up today.

MAINE, USA — On this Saturday, you can feel the warmth and humidity in the air.

The warmest and most humid weather today will be in southwestern Maine, with temperatures getting into the 80s. Much of the rest of the state will have high temperatures in the 70s.

A cold front is moving in. Showers and thunderstorms will develop ahead of it. The day started with scattered storms, but a more formidable line will cross through this afternoon.

Storms will move south during the early to mid afternoon, with the highest chance for a severe storm or two between noon and 4 p.m. for most.

Hail and damaging wind gusts are the main threats.

Already this morning, a severe thunderstorm moved through the Lakes Region, dropping hail in Hiram and bringing downpours to the Sebago area.

Keep an eye on the radar and follow updates through the afternoon.
