It's hot and steamy outside, and an approaching cold front will trigger widespread showers and storms this afternoon.
The morning and early afternoon is the time to get your outdoor plans in today. If you have plans later in the day, be ready to get inside in case a storm hits.
All of the storms will contain downpours and lightning. The stronger storms may contain damaging wind gusts, especially in the hotter and more humid air in southern and central Maine.
Around noon, showers and storms will organize in the mountains and northern Maine.
By mid-afternoon, these storms start moving southeast, into the foothills, central and eastern Maine.
The line of storms will hit the coast late this afternoon and early evening, ending as showers after 6 p.m.
We will keep you updated as watches and warnings are issued, on-air and online.
