The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for all of Maine and New Hampshire until 8 p.m. Saturday.
Watches are issued when conditions are favorable for storms to form and strengthen.
Warnings are issued when storms are imminent or occurring, and you should take shelter immediately.
A line of storms is forming in the mountains and northern Maine, and will move southeast between now and early evening.
All of the storms will contain heavy rain and lightning. The stronger storms will have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts.
