As our weekend storm pulls away, cold air will blast in on a strong wind Monday into Tuesday.

A Wind Advisory has been issued for central and western Maine, starting at 7 a.m. Monday and going into Monday night. A High Wind Warning is up for York County and southern New Hampshire, where some gusts could hit 60 MPH.

The second cold front you see in New York and Pennsylvania will move through Maine Monday morning. On the other side of this front, winds gusted to over 70 MPH Sunday afternoon along Lake Erie.

It won't be that windy here, and this will not be like the infamous October 2017 windstorm. However, 24 to 36 hours of strong wind gusts will knock out power to some.

Monday morning and midday, we'll have gusts in the 30 to 40 MPH range, strongest in western Maine.

During the afternoon and evening, stronger gusts will become more widespread. Some gusts over 50 MPH are likely, enough to knock down tree limbs and power lines.

In northern Maine, these strong gusts will cause blowing and drifting of the new snow.

The wind will be even stronger in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, with multiple 60 MPH gusts.

Stay with us for updates, and be ready in case you lose power. It's going to be very cold Monday night and Tuesday, with wind chills below zero. That's a real concern.
