MAINE, Maine — On the NEWS CENTER Maine app, you can receive weather alerts the second they're issued, based on your current or default location.
Here's how to set it up:
Open the app, go to the upper right hand corner and click on the settings button. Then click on notification settings, and severe weather alerts.
From there, you can set up your hometown or default location, based on zip code.
Next up, tap "Severe Weather Alerts" to choose the type of alerts you would like to receive:
- Statements/Advisories, Watches and Warnings - (more alerts) all alerts issued by the National Weather Service.
- Watches and Warnings - only watches and warnings issued by the National Weather Service.
- Warnings - (fewer alerts) only warnings issued by the National Weather Service.
