The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for much of Maine and New Hampshire until 9 p.m. Monday.
Watches are issued when conditions are favorable for storms to form and strengthen.
Warnings are issued when storms are imminent or occurring, and you should take shelter immediately.

Storms are forming in the mountains and will be moving southeast toward the coast during the late afternoon and early evening.
Some of the storms may become severe.
The largest concern with these storms is for damaging wind gusts and hail. But, there's also a non-zero chance of a brief tornado spin up.
