Slightly cooler Friday; near record highs this weekend

A cold front will move into the state, dropping daytime highs to seasonal norms Friday afternoon. Temperatures will soar into near-record territory this weekend.

COLORADO, USA — Forecast by: Meteorologist Danielle Grant

THIS EVENING AT A GLANCE: It may be the first full day of fall but it feels more like summer! Highs soared into the lower 80s Thursday but a dry cold front will swing into the state tonight, briefly cooling us off for the end of the work week.

Look for daytime highs in the mid to upper 70s Friday afternoon with partly sunny skies. The cool off won't last long. Warmer, above-average temperatures make a comeback for the first weekend of fall. It'll be in the mid 80s Saturday and upper 80s Sunday. Denver will come close to Sunday's record high of 90 degrees, set in 2010.

A storm system will move into Colorado by the middle of next week. It'll bring us much cooler temperatures and scattered showers and storms next Wednesday and Thursday. And it will finally feel more like fall!

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny warmer again, high 85; clear skies overnight, low 53.
