An icy, rainy, windy Monday | CORY'S BLOG

Watch for areas of ice to start our Monday. A few areas of mixed precip may linger into the afternoon. Heavy rain and wind later today.

We're starting off Monday with a wintry mix. Some areas of the state are either seeing snow, freezing rain, sleet, or plain rain.

Some of the wintry mix will start to change back over to all rain as we head into the late morning and early afternoon hours. Inland areas may still be stuck in the wintry mix. Untreated roads and surfaces will be slick. Please use caution when traveling, especially on bridges and overpasses.

MORNING:

AFTERNOON:

EVENING:

Heavy rain will eventually move in during the afternoon and evening. We're talking rainfall totals anywhere between 1-2 inches through Tuesday morning. Some isolated areas may approach 3 inches. I'm a little concerned with area rivers and streams. The recent and ongoing snowmelt with the heavy rain may lead to some areas of flooding.

Winds will continue to increase throughout the afternoon. They will become strongest later today into tonight. We could see gusts approaching 40-55 MPH. Watch out near the coast and into Western Maine for those higher gusts.

Our storm moves off to the east into Tuesday. A few leftover showers are possible early. A few may linger into the afternoon. Highs warming back up into the low 50s!

Have a great day and be safe!

Cory
