BAR HARBOR (NEWS CENTER Maine) — The National Park Service on Tuesday announced its 2019 entrance fee-free days for the 115 of 418 parks that regularly charge, including Acadia National Park.
Acadia will offer free admission to everyone on the following days:
Jan. 21: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
April 20: First day of National Park Week
Aug. 25: National Park Service Birthday
Sept. 28: National Public Lands Day
Nov. 11: Veterans Day
The entrance fee waiver for fee-free days does not cover amenity or user fees for activities such as camping, boat launches, transportation or special tours, the NPS says.
Acadia is the system's 14th-oldest park and oldest east of the Mississippi River.
