LINCOLN, Maine — Monday is a holiday, but it is no respite for drivers in Penobscot County.

Maine State Police dispatchers for Troop E tell NEWS CENTER Maine that multiple crashes are impacting traffic on Interstate 95 between Howland and Lincoln. The problems extend for ten miles on both sides of the highway.

The commute, however, may not be as busy as usual on January 20 with many people staying home from work for Martin Luther King Day.

Police say the travel lanes of the highway remain open and passable. But they ask drivers to proceed slowly and exercise caution while emergency crews respond to the crashes.
