WISCASSET, Maine — The Wiscasset Police Department posted a traffic alert on Facebook this morning after a box truck crashed on Route. 1 near the Wiscasset and Woolwich town line.

The truck was the single-vehicle in the accident which caused damage to a section of guardrail and a utility pole.

Police recommend the public seek an alternate route through mountain road as crews work to clear the scene.
